Depression can just erupt out of nowhere, like a sudden thunderstorm on a Summer day.
Thick grey clouds begin to take over, bringing gloom to the sky.
Lightening strikes and all these negative emotions flash before you.
The thunder becomes louder and stronger until you feel it crashing through your body.
Anxiety builds up just as the rain pours down harder.
With no warning you are stranded in the middle of a storm with no jacket or coverage.
You see everyone else protected by an umbrella as you become drenched from rain.
All you can do is hope that the whirlwind of thoughts ruining the peace-fullness will stop.
But as more dark clouds hover above you, all you can really do is wait for them to pass.
Even after, when skies begin to clear up, you’re clothes are still soaking and cold. Even after the rain dies down, the dampness on the ground is a reminder of it all, and you wonder when it will hit again. Even after the thunder stops you can still hear it from a distance.
And that’s the shitty thing about thunderstorms like these. They arrive on the clearest of days. And they come when all you want to do is bask in the sun.
